Our clients, a young couple, found this gem of a property near Mohill, Co. Leitrim and we were delighted to be invited to help them realise it’s great potential. The old farmhouse and granary outbuilding faced onto an overgrown mature garden with an orchard, ringfort and had a derelict outbuilding to the side of the house. Our design solution was to link the house and granary via a contemporary style extension with South facing aspects into the beautiful garden. Stone from the derelict outbuilding was re-used to the rear extension. Glimpses of Seltan Lough can be caught from the roof terrace over the extension. This self-build was a monumental effort by the clients who did much of the work themselves and can surely be proud of their efforts.
